First tree planted in Endemic Species Garden 16/12/2010
The Council is proud to announce that planting for our Endemic Species Garden has officially begun!
Students from the council and a science class participated in the first day of planting the endemic trees, grasses and other plants. The first tree was planted by Co-President Marina Saunders, followed by Co-President William Vu. Each tree has been given a name which will be officially named in a later ceremony when all species have been planted.
The planting will continue for the next few weeks, however the holidays have delayed planting until 2011. We hope to finish planting as soon as possible.
The Council wishes to thank all students and teachers that helped in the process of the Endemic Species Garden, including moving the tonnes of mulch donated by Marrickville Council & made from our Fountain Quad Trees, along with those people that have so far helped with planting in the garden.
Pictures are up and can be seen on our pictures page.
